RAiN Forum in Bangladesh (www.rainforum.org) in collaboration with International Training Network Centre, BUET (ITN-BUET), which was 'Training Program on Rainwater Harvesting System’ held from 22-23 December, 2012 at ITN-BUET Seminar Room, Dhaka.

The training course has been designed for civil engineers, architects, urban planners, environmentalists, academicians working in the government and non-government organizations, semi-government organizations, universities and private organizations who are interested to learn more about theory, practice (design), policies and legal aspects of rainwater harvesting in practical fields. Few seats will also be allocated for students of Level 4 & 5 of reputed Universities.

WaterAid organised training on urban rainwater harvesting and decentralised wastewater management systems held on 23-27 Sep 2012 at BCDM, Savar. A total of 23 sector professionals trained up on urban rainwater harvesting and decentralised wastewater management systems. Participants were from GoB officials (LGI, Health Engineering Department), Universities and other educational institute as well as from NGOs. Facilitators were from Centre for Science and Environment (CSE)- India, DWASA, PWD, Dhaka University and University of Asia Pacific(UAP), Dhaka.

WaterAid in Bangladesh organised a training of trainers'course on WatSan point mapper held on 8-13 September 2012 at BCDM, Savar. A total of 16 participants from different discipline participated in this course. Participants were from WaterAid, Plan Bangladesh, HYSAWA, UPPR of UNDP, Khulna University, and DPHE, Dhaka. The training course divided into 2 batches. First batch held on 8-10 Sep 2012 whereas the other held on 11-13 Sep 2012. Joseph Pierce, Technical Adviser, WaterAid UK facilitated this training.
