A day long training program was conducted successfully in Dhaka WASA training center on 12th February 2017 which was organized by RAiN forum with the support from Wateraid Bangladesh. The theme of the workshop was ‘’Sustainable Urban Water Conservation and Management’’ where 25 university students from different discipline got the opportunity to be the participants of the workshop. Managing Director of the Dhaka WASA Engr. Taqsem A Khan inaugurated the program by a video conference and the program ended with the distribution of certificates among the participants. The Managing director of Dhaka WASA, himself honoured the participants by giving them the certificates. Retired chief engineer from Dhaka WASA, President and secretary of RAiN forum, program officer from Wateraid Bangladesh were also present.

The presentation of the Chief engineer of Dhaka WASA was on the water supplying system of Dhaka WASA while the president of RAiN forum, Syed Azizul Haq PEng, conducted training on rainwater harvesting system design and management. A case study on water management in urban area and a presentation on urban water scarcity and conservation were presented by the secretary of RAiN forum, Md. Ashraful Alum Ratan. In the daylong workshop, an exercise of rainwater harvesting design was held where the students divided them into groups to complete the assignments successfully.  Representative from Wateraid Bangladesh, Engr. Md. Tahmidul Islam, demonstrated their activities in different areas within the country and presented a presentation on rainwater harvesting and discussed about its importance and potentialities. The participants of the workshop were very delighted to get the opportunity to participate in this training and were confident that this training will help them to boost their knowledge and skills since they got the opportunities to exchange their views on sustainable water conservation and management with the leading national experts. After the daylong workshop, the final session ended with certificate distribution and photo session.
